Finally an Update!

Hey everyone!

Sorry its been such a long time. I have been sick with bronchitis for the past 2ish weeks!

So here is the scoop on auditions. I was accepted to Joffrey New York and Joffrey South but Joffrey Midwest rejected me. I auditioned for Ballet Austin on Sunday, and I was still very sick so it didn’t go well. But I’m hoping that I will still be accepted, I will find out in a few weeks if I am.

(For Judi! Joffrey and Ballet Austin are professional dance schools! I audition for their summer programs, which are usually a month long, and I study with their teachers everyday)

I’ll end my post with some really amazing picture of rain! It rained here for the first time in months, and I was elated! I love the rain and was extremely happy that entire day!

Quick update.

I really should be doing school right now so I only have time for a quick update. The auditions on Sunday went ok, I will be surprised if I am accepted but it was a great experience! Sadly I was coming down with my chronic bronchitis so I wasn’t feeling my best and I am still pretty sick right now. I have 2 more auditions this weekend so hopefully I will be feeling better by then!
I was told I would know by the end of the week if I made it in, so I will keep you posted!

Audition

I have auditions for Joffery Ballets summer intensive tomorrow! I’m super nervous. I have never auditioned for a big name ballet company before, and I really want to be good enough.
It’s a 4 and a half hour drive to the nearest city where they are auditioning so I have to get up at 5 in the morning to get their in time. I hope I am not to tired when I get there, but I’m sure I will be so nervous and full of adrenaline that I will make it through.

Wish me Luck! I’m going to need it!

Isn’t it funny how stress can just hit you all of a sudden. You can literally feel the air being sucked out of your lungs as if someone sucker punched you in the stomach. At least that’s how it feels for me, especially today.

I have a lot of things to deal with, though I’m sure it’s not anymore than other people have. Car payments are do, school, needing another job to make ends meet the list is endless. It’s hard not to be overwhelmed when things seem impossible, but then I remember that I’m not alone. God can do the impossible, and He will provide. I can rest in Him and His mercy and Grace.

Thank you Father!

Philippians 4: 6-7
Do not be anxious about anything but in everything by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving presents your requests to God.
And the peace of God which transends all understanding will guard your heart and your mind in Christ Jesus.

A Poem

All right I’m trying my hand at this poem thing. Judi you inspired me to try writing and a guy (whose name shall not be mentioned) inspired these words.

He makes you angry
And you don’t know what to say
All he does it hurt you
In every single way

He flatters you with pretty words
And showers you with praise
Then he goes and leaves you
And talks to her all day

You can’t help but like him
Even though you know its wrong
Why is it so extremely hard
To let go and move on

Update time!

Well I’m finally getting back into routine! Yes, it has taken me this long to recover from Holiday break!
School is going well, but a little slow; I’m really starting to worry about college stuff. As a home schooler I always wonder if I have learned as much as people in the public school system. And at a lot of the colleges that I want to apply for, home schoolers have to have higher tests scores than everyone else, which I don’t quite understand. I know that I am very behind in this college race, I have yet to take my ACT test (I have one in February). But its all in Gods hands and I think this is his way of saying that I need to take a semester off and work to save my money (so I can pay for college! Lol).

My body has also finally recovered from my three weeks off. My first class back was horrible! I was exhausted and was amazed by how much technique can be lost without dancing everyday! Rehearsals for recital have started, and I am excited to have found out we are going to be doing the ballet Alice in Wonderland!!

Well that’s all I have to say for right now! God bless!

Help me out!

Ok so I wrote this for no real reason. I threw in a lot of things about me and things I like. Something just seems wrong. Repetitive and rambling? To much use of the word rain? Its just horribly written and can't be saved? I can’t figure it out, so if you can it would be greatly appreciated!

Kathleen sat peacefully on the front porch swing, her bare feet pushing on the ground causing her to gently glide back and fourth. She took a deep breath of fresh air as she watched the huge raindrops fall from the stormy sky and form puddles on the sidewalk.

Days like this were Kathleen’s favorite, they reminded her of her home in Ireland. Rain came almost everyday there, but here in Texas it rained far to little in her way of thinking.

It had been a long day and Kathleen was grateful for this momentary escape. Her body ached from hours of dancing and the comfort the rain brought helped keep her mind off her pain.

Thanks guys!

New Years Resolutions

I thought I would share with you my goals for this New Year. For the first time in a very long time my top goal is not to lose weight. This is not because I am necessarily happy with my current weight, but because I have discovered that being happy with the way God created you is a first step to being happy. Also, when I make goals for myself I keep them… even if that means doing dangerous things to get there and I’m not willing to let myself go down that path again.
So, with that said, these are my goals for this New Year.

Keep doing my abs and cardio every night (this was my goal last year and its still going well)

Eat more healthy food

Stretch with purpose twice a week (I say stretch with purpose because I stretch every day to warm up my body, but I want to make a special goal where my stretching is to gain flexibility)

Now I have a lot of other things that I want and need to do this year as well (college stuff, teaching stuff, etc) but I don’t want to fall into the trap of setting my standards to high.

Did any of you make any New Years Resolutions?

May God Bless this New Year! =D

After much procrastination… here are some of the pictures from after my performance! We still haven't recieved any of the pictures taken from the actual dancing, but when we do I will be sure to get them posted! That last pictures is one of me and my little sister (who wants to be a ballerina horse rider when she grows up ;D )

Christmas Fun

Santa didn’t bring me what I asked for on my ballet wish list, but I was very blessed by what I did receive! I was giving some wonderful things but none of them compare to the feeling you get when you are spending time with family and remembering Gods great sacrifice for us.
I hope you all had an amazing Christmas! Did you get anything super cool?

As for my ballet life… it’s been slow. We are in the middle of our 3-week break and I’m going a little crazy! I haven’t danced in a week and a half!
I decided that it was unhealthy for me not to dance (my eye was beginning to twitch lol) so I stretched for a couple hours, and then decided to dye my old pointe shoes green! These are some pictures I took.

I hope you have a wonderful New Year!
P.S. I'll be uploading pictures from my big preformance soon! =D

10 honest things about yourself.

Rules:
List 10 honest things about yourself.

Ok here goes:

1. I am a facebook addict. I’m always on… I think it would be wise to seek help :P

2. I used to read at least 3 books a day. Now that I’m a senior I don’t have time anymore, and it makes me sad.

3. I love anything Victorian. My room is all old fashioned and I collect antique dresses and keep them in an antique hope chest.

4. I still watch Disney movies and my favorite is the Little Mermaid.

5. Sometimes I think I’m not learning enough because I’m home schooled and think that I won’t succeed after I graduate.

6. I’ve always loved Ireland, I’m not sure why though. Maybe God has something planned for me that involve Ireland and her people… I’m not sure yet.

7. I’m afraid I will never get married and be a mom because I’ve never had a boyfriend.

8. I always joke about how I am going to win the lottery and buy a castle in Ireland. But deep down I hope it comes true ;)

9. I was a vegetarian for a while because someone said I couldn’t do it.

10. I have pride issues that I am working on. I used to say that the only thing I feared was failure, I now realize that its pride.

Dance Update.

Dance Update.

So today was my first rehearsal/class since Thanksgiving break started on Monday. I got there early to stretch and warm up and I found out that one of the girls in the piece I am understudying sprained her ankle! So I am her as of further notice. We think she will be better by the performance (which starts Dec. 13th) but if not, then I get her part. I do of course hope she gets better soon!
Anyway today I did her part, and it was a killer! I haven’t danced in a week and then doing a 15 minute dances en pointe… well lets just same my legs felt numb!!!

Best wishes all! I have a lot of practicing to do!

Happy Thanksgiving all!!

In light of the season, I thought I would list 5things I am thankful for! Here I go…

1. My family. I am so blessed to have been born into my family, they love me and have done an excellent job taking care of me and teaching me about the Lord!

2. My Friends. Again I have been blessed with Christian friends who help me stay on the right path.

3. My Dancing! I thank God everyday for giving me a body that is so well equipped for ballet!

4. Technology! I don’t know what I would do without Internet access and my cell phone!

5. Good health. My family has been very blessed with good health.

So what are you thankful for?

I can't... I have rehearsal!

Oh man! I’ve been so busy! I’m not traveling 1 hour away every day for rehearsals! The performances begin on December 13. I’m excited but I’m also looking forward to being done! Sorry if I don’t update for a while, but with ballet, rehearsals and school, I’m super busy!!!

Peace out! (me resting between rehearsals at the theater).

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

** Though no one dared to leave a comment on my previous post, I hope you all understand how heavily this issue has been weighing on my heart.

Here in the Midwest it’s starting to get rather cold. I finally got to break out my winter jacket, scarves and boots! I don’t really care for the snow and cold, but I love winter clothing!
I can’t believe Christmas is only about a month away, I really should start thinking about gifts and such, but I think I will take some time and enjoy Thanksgiving first. Sometimes this holiday gets over looked because of Christmas, but I intend to fully enjoy eating way to much this year!

Rehearsals for our “Winter Celebration of Dance” are getting crazy! I have them about every day for the next 2 weeks because our performances are on December 13 and 14. Everything is starting to come together and I can’t wait to do everything in costume! I’ll try to get some pictures for you guys soon.

Best Wishes!

Abortion

“Q: Do you personally believe that life begins at conception?
A: This is something that I have not come to a firm resolution on. I think it's very hard to know what that means, when life begins. Is it when a cell separates? Is it when the soul stirs? So I don't presume to know the answer to that question. What I know is that there is something extraordinarily powerful about potential life and that that has a moral weight to it that we take into consideration when we're having these debates.”
Obama

This video clearly shows the answer to this question. Do not try to tell me that what you just saw can not be considered a person or alive.

I am going to state the fact of the matter clearly in one point:
If you are not prepared to have a child, then do not have sex. You can not be fully prepared to have a child unless you are married because a child needs both parents (though I understand that God has a different plan for some people). Thus simple logic would be that you should not have sex until you are married.
Don’t be selfish and give in to you own desires, there could be another being depending on you.

Winter Make over!

Well its getting cold where I live, and I thought it would be nice to give my blog a “winter feel”. What do you think? It is easy to read? Does it catch your eye?

Ballet update: I was called in last night to perform at a fundraiser, one of the girls I had been understudying was sick and so I took her place. It was a great opportunity (though I’m sad the girl was sick), I really enjoyed myself and I feel like I know what I need to be working on for our showcase (which has been given the name “Winter Celebration of Dance”).
